Walking through the journey of faith as a defender of the fatherless child I have often told others that your life may never be more confusing or rewarding than when your path crosses with God and His children. That in those moments you will know that He alone is in charge and that each orphan child is His child first. In this letter you will see that Psalm 82:3 Mission has found ourselves in one of these amazing moments. A moment of faith…

After months of prayer and discussion the Psalm 82:3 Mission team came to a realization that our time serving the kids at the AFAA Home Liberia was complete. With adoptions now moving forward it was time for the other two agencies responsible for adoptions to begin funding the program once again. At the end of August 2017 we will no longer be partnered with the amazing staff and children in Liberia that all of us have come to love. Each of their stories and lives will be at the top of our hearts and prayer list longing for the day that each of them come home to a forever family.

While this might seem like a burdensome letter, and in some ways it is, we have been reminded that God has big plans for us, for you, and for many more children in Liberia! At the same time God was allowing this door to close He had prepared new doors for us to walk through. Instead of partnering with an existing orphanage we are taking steps in faith to begin something new!

We are quickly taking steps to begin a new orphanage by establishing an NGO (Non-government Organization) in Liberia. This will be a strong, Christ-centered home dedicated to meeting the needs of special needs and healthy children. Our friend Morris Freeman will serve as our project manager in Liberia. In faith, we are planning to even connect with a local Hague approved agency in Georgetown, KY to facilitate adoptions. We have also moved our fundraising banquet to the beginning of December instead of the original September 30 date.

To do much of this, though we had to take an even bigger step of faith, we needed to put together a small networking and vision team of 4 people ready and willing to travel to Liberia. This trip has been set for September 11-19. The goal of the team will be to travel to the interior near Ganta and Buchanan to see if and how the Lord might be leading us to start in this area. They will connect with leaders at a Christian college, others serving orphans in Liberia, and looking at many properties. To accomplish this we need to raise $12,000! This will cover the airfare, visas, taxis, food, and other needs for the team traveling.

Will you continue to join with us as defenders by praying with our team as we enter this time of transition? We know it’s crazy. Hebrews 11:1- Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see
